Day 4
Subject: The thing is, [firstname]

Hi [firstname],

I'll bet that subject line made you wonder what this e-mail was all about. That was the intention!

You see, curiosity is a powerful emotion. People are naturally curious, and teasing them by releasing just a little bit of information, but making clear there's more to things than you're letting on, just makes people MORE curious.

And curiosity is contagious! How often has someone asked you What's going on at? Even if you didn't know anything was going on, that question has got you wondering. No YOU'RE curious, too. Then rumors start to flow, and everybody starts asking: Just what the heck is going on?

In marketing this is called creating a buzz.

This is what you want to do during your prelaunch phase. Creating a buzz builds curiosity and gets people thinking (and talking) about your product before they even know for certain what it is.

Then, later on, when your product launch happens for real and your product goes live lots of people will head over to your site just to see what all the fuss has been about. Many of them will buy, but even those who don't will be doing you a favor. Why? Because an increase in your site's popularity will result in more traffic to the site. Not only will this push it up the search engine rankings meaning more people will see it but more people will be likely to buy.

There are lots of different ways to build curiosity and create a buzz, but getting your impending launch discussed on niche sites is a great place to start.

Warmly,

[Your Name]

PS. There is a better way of creating a buzz than discussing things on niche sites. Curious? I explain here [link to sales page].
